The shadow behind the Window

Every night at exactly 2:13 a.m., Emma saw a shadow standing behind her bedroom window.

At first, she thought it was a tree.

Her new house stood at the edge of a small forest, and the branches often moved strangely in the wind. But the shadow never moved with the trees. It always stood perfectly still.

A tall figure.

Watching.

Emma tried closing the curtains, but somehow the shadow appeared on them—a dark human shape with long arms and an unnaturally narrow head.

On the fourth night, Emma gathered enough courage to look outside.

There was nothing there.

The garden was empty.

She checked the security camera the next morning. The footage showed nothing unusual. Still, at 2:13 a.m., the camera suddenly went black for exactly one minute.

The following night, Emma stayed awake with her phone in her hand.

2:12.

She stared at the window.

2:13.

The shadow appeared.

This time, something was different.

It raised one hand.

Emma froze.

Slowly, the figure pointed toward the bedroom door.

A soft knock came from behind her.

Emma turned around.

Nobody was there.

Another knock.

Then a whisper came from the hallway.

“Emma…”

She recognized the voice.

It was her own.

Terrified, she ran downstairs and locked herself in the kitchen. She called her brother, but before he answered, she noticed something on the kitchen table.

A photograph.

It showed her bedroom window.

The same tall shadow stood behind it.

On the back of the photograph were four words:

“Don't let it inside.”

Emma looked toward the kitchen window.

The shadow was there.

But this time, it wasn't outside.

It was standing behind the glass, only inches away.

She screamed and stepped backward.

The figure slowly lifted its hand and pressed it against the window.

A crack appeared across the glass.

Then her phone rang.

The screen displayed a call from Emma.

She stared at it, unable to breathe.

Her own voice came through the speaker.

“Emma, don't look behind you.”

She slowly turned.

The kitchen was empty.

But on the wall behind her was a new shadow.

It had no body.

Only a long, smiling head.

And then the lights went out.

At 2:14 a.m., the neighbors heard Emma scream.

The next morning, her house was empty.

Except for one thing.

Every window had a dark figure standing behind it.

And at exactly 2:13 a.m., the shadow moved to a new house.
