american horror stories: The House at the end of blackwood road

Every small town has a place people refuse to talk about.

In Mill Creek, Ohio, that place was the old house at the end of Blackwood Road.

The house had been empty for twenty years. Its windows were covered with wooden boards, its garden had disappeared beneath weeds, and the front door was always locked.

At least, that was what everyone believed.

One October evening, twenty-two-year-old Emily Carter was driving home when her car suddenly stopped near Blackwood Road.

Her phone showed no signal.

Then she heard a sound.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

It was coming from the abandoned house.

Emily stepped out of the car.

“Hello?”

No answer.

The front door slowly opened.

Emily froze.

She should have driven away. Instead, she walked toward the house.

Inside, everything was covered in dust except for one thing—a small wooden chair sitting in the middle of the hallway.

On the chair was a photograph.

Emily picked it up.

Her heart stopped.

The photograph showed the same house, taken decades ago.

Standing in front of it were five people.

One of them was Emily.

She dropped the photograph.

“No…”

Behind her, the front door slammed shut.

A little girl's voice whispered from upstairs.

“Emily, you finally came back.”

Emily ran toward the door, but it wouldn't move.

Then she heard footsteps above her.

Slow.

Heavy.

Coming down the stairs.

She looked up.

A little girl stood there wearing a white dress.

Her face was pale, and her eyes were completely black.

“You promised you would never leave us,” the girl whispered.

“I don't know you!”

The girl smiled.

“You will.”

Suddenly, every light in the house turned on.

Emily saw dozens of photographs covering the walls.

Every photograph showed the same people.

The same house.

The same little girl.

And in every picture, Emily was standing beside her.

Then Emily noticed something terrifying.

The photographs weren't old.

The newest one was dated October 6, 2026.

It showed Emily standing inside the hallway.

Behind her stood the little girl.

Emily slowly turned around.

Nobody was there.

Then the girl whispered directly into her ear:

“Now look at the next picture.”

The lights went out.

The next morning, Emily's car was found beside Blackwood Road.

Emily was never found.

But locals say that if you pass the abandoned house after midnight, you can sometimes see a young woman standing behind the upstairs window.

And if she sees you…

she smiles.
