The phone call from tommorow

At exactly 11:47 p.m., Daniel’s phone rang.

He almost ignored it. The number on the screen was strange—twelve digits instead of the usual ten. There was no name, no country code he recognized.

For some reason, he answered.

“Hello?”

For several seconds, there was only silence.

Then he heard his own voice.

“Daniel, listen carefully. You have exactly twenty-four hours.”

Daniel froze.

The voice sounded exactly like him, but older—tired and frightened.

“Who is this?”

“It’s you. Tomorrow.”

Daniel laughed nervously. “Very funny. Who are you?”

“Don’t go to the old railway station at 8:30 tomorrow night.”

The call suddenly ended.

Daniel stared at his phone. He wanted to believe it was a prank, but something about the voice disturbed him. It wasn't just similar to his voice. It had the same tiny hesitation he made before speaking when he was nervous.

The next morning, Daniel tried to forget the call.

By afternoon, however, he noticed something strange.

A message appeared on his phone from an unknown number.

You didn't listen.

Daniel's hands became cold.

He checked the number from the previous night. It was already gone from his call history.

At 8:15 p.m., Daniel received another call.

This time, he answered immediately.

His older voice whispered, “You're already near the station.”

Daniel looked around.

He was standing across the road from the abandoned railway station.

He hadn't planned to come there. Somehow, during his evening walk, he had found himself walking toward it.

“Why did you bring me here?” Daniel asked.

“I didn't.”

A long silence followed.

Then the voice said, “Look behind you.”

Daniel slowly turned.

Nobody was there.

But on the station wall was a large digital clock.

It showed 11:47 p.m.

Daniel checked his watch.

It was only 8:17.

The clock suddenly changed.

8:18.

Then his phone rang again.

This time, the caller ID displayed his own name.

Daniel answered.

His older voice was barely audible.

“I finally understand.”

“Understand what?”

“The call wasn't from tomorrow.”

Daniel swallowed.

“Then where was it from?”

The voice whispered, “From the moment after tomorrow.”

The line went dead.

Suddenly, every light inside the abandoned station turned on.

A train appeared on the platform.

Daniel stepped backward.

The train had no driver, no passengers and no destination displayed.

Its doors opened.

Inside, Daniel saw something that made his heart stop.

There was a single seat near the window.

On it lay his phone.

The same phone he was holding.

Then the screen lit up.

Incoming call: Daniel.

Daniel stared at it, realizing that the mystery wasn't about who was calling him.

It was about when the call would finally end.

And somewhere inside the empty train, his own voice whispered:

“Don't answer.”
